Roommates for students - EHPAD

Student flat-sharing in EHPAD: an intergenerational and supportive project

Since September 2018, Montpellier's CCAS has been offering students low-rent shared accommodation in 4 of its EHPAD, in exchange for 3 hours of volunteer work per week.

This intergenerational and supportive project helps to break the isolation of the elderly and combat student insecurity, by creating a social link between two generations.

New housemates learn about the various trades working in these living spaces and share convivial moments with their elders. As for the elderly, they have the opportunity to talk about their experience and benefit from the vitality and dynamism of the younger generation.

Students wishing to join one of the colocations and obtain a room in a furnished apartment will need to complete and return an application form to the Montpellier CCAS.

Applications from students following a course of study related to personal accompaniment and care will be given careful consideration.

The lease lasts for one academic year, with the possibility of renewal. The lease ends a maximum of three years after the entry date, all renewals included.

How to apply?

Students can download their application form and return it completed before July 15, 2025.
