At the heart of the commune's largest priority district, it takes up residence in the basements of the Aigoual Nord building. This initiative is part of the Quartiers Fertiles call for projects run by the Agence Nationale pour la Rénovation Urbaine (ANRU). The overall budget is 1.2 million euros.
Mosson seeds
A veritable urban laboratory, "Graines de Mosson" comes to experiment with the deployment of agricultural solutions in neighborhoods. It will mobilize and involve institutions, residents, start-ups and local associations...
Through Graines de Mosson, urban agriculture takes on a variety of challenges:
- Productive and commercial, by offering production and value-added in short circuits to a local consumer base.
- Environmental, as it represents low-impact production methods corresponding to the sustainable development objectives defined by the UN.
- Pedagogical and educational: this activity is an opportunity to pass on new production and consumption methods to the public, particularly young people.
The project is notably a factor in economic development, innovation and employment. It fosters the emergence of new activities within priority neighborhoods, and promotes the employability of local residents through the development of skills in new trades. Graines de Mosson also brings social and societal benefits, contributing to the well-being of local residents.
