Since 2020, the city has equipped all schools with digital equipment now essential to learning with its Digital Plan.
Whiteboards and video projectors have been installed in all classrooms from kindergarten to CM2. Nearly 1,200 laptops have been provided for every class and school management. Mobile classrooms" (cases containing 9 to 15 digital tablets) have also been delivered to almost all schools. New schools are also equipped with interactive digital screens for elementary grades.
Since 2022, the city of Montpellier has been involved in the Territoires Numériques Educatifs scheme, in which 13 schools in the city (Cévennes-Malbosc) benefit from digital equipment and additional digital training and resources. One of the projects under this scheme is the installation of the very first fablab within a school in the city.
