Soccer World Cup exhibition

As part of the 2026 Football World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19, the City of Montpellier is offering a brand-new exhibition dedicated to the world of the round ball, through an exceptional selection from the Louis Nicollin collection.

It features some thirty rare and emblematic items retracing the history of world soccer. Veritable witnesses to footballing legend, these objects are on public display for the first time, in a scenography specially designed for the event.

On the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a first-of-its-kind exhibition dedicated to Olympism had been presented at Montpellier's Opéra-Comédie. In 2025, an exhibition dedicated to cycling and the Tour de France completed this dynamic, when Montpellier hosted a stage of the race. Today, this series continues with a third installment dedicated to soccer, produced in connection with the World Cup.
