Urban planning for accessibility

As part of the "Agendas d'Accessibilité Programmée" (Ad'AP - Programmed Accessibility Agendas), bringing public-access establishments (ERP) into compliance is a priority, in order to resolve the obstacles identified in day-care centers, schools, gymnasiums, Maisons pour tous, ceremonial halls, cultural venues and so on.

Accessibility of local town halls and Maisons pour tous

The accessibility of local town halls and Houses for all, whose cost is estimated at between €2.5 and €5 million, depending on the frequency of use criterion selected, and in agreement with the associations.

The cost of bringing the facilities up to standard is estimated at a minimum of €25 million. This sum has been discounted to reflect the increase in construction costs (around 3% per year).

Accessibility of the Town Hall

  • Two guide strips cross the forecourt to enable the blind and visually impaired to reach the airlock, where audible beacons triggered by universal remote controls signal their arrival.
  • The different-sized reception desks can accommodate both able-bodied and PRM visitors.
  • The elevator floor buttons are in relief and Braille. A digitized voice announces the floors.
  • Several rooms are equipped with microphones and magnetic loops enabling hearing-impaired people to attend meetings.
