The region's agriparks

An agriparc, a place for agricultural production and green leisure activities

An agriparc is an agricultural park included in the urban space, combining various functions around agriculture.

Playgrounds for children, fitness trail... The agriparc is a green leisure area open to all, as well as a landscaped place of production and marketing in short circuit.

The Bouisses agripark: a green lung for Montpellier

The Bouisses agriparc project, on the western edge of the city, was born of a political desire to rebalance the share devoted to natural spaces within the Metropole.

After a process co-constructed with citizens, the Tender Commission designated the Caudex project. This consultancy firm, specialized in landscape and territorial strategies, guarantees the management of the site's transformation.

A green district where nature finds its place

The Agriparc des Bouisses will contribute to biodiversity by maintaining ecological continuity. This agroforestry area, a play and resource center for the Metropole's residents, will respect ecological webs and provide a refuge for flora and fauna. By its size, this 100-hectare agriparc will become Montpellier's largest green space.

It will complete the green belt of Montpellier's major parks and green spaces: Montcalm, Dumont, Charpak, Cambacérès, La Rauze, Domaine d'Ô, Malbosc, Méric, Montmaur, Lunaret zoological park, Grammont, Coulée verte de La Mosson or the Mas Nouguier Agriparc.

An active, inclusive and convivial neighborhood

New forms of housing, innovative in their typologies, materials and designs, will be created in connection with the natural and agricultural space of the agriparc. This approach to living differently will be based on a social, intergenerational mix and controlled urbanization.

A transportation network to enjoy nature without polluting

Thanks to the future tramway line 5, agriparc will be accessible to the entire population of Montpellier and the 31 communes of the Metropole. Access will also be enhanced by the future bustram line n°2, whose route will run along the eastern side of the agriparc.

This future "green network" will link the green spaces together, while enabling the Metropole's inhabitants to move around in a natural setting, conducive to walking, leisure activities and, of course, improving their quality of life. Bicycle paths will also be laid out to facilitate access to the agriparc and make it a destination for bike rides.

Agriparc du Mas Nouguier

Acquired by the City of Montpellier in 2006 and covering an area of around 21 ha, the Mas Nouguier agriparc is fully in line with the metropolitan political project concerning agroecology, food and the professional integration of fragile publics, in contact with the Les Grisettes eco-neighborhood.

It is thus positioned at the crossroads of public policies carried by the City and the Metropole. This site also combines the desire to preserve a heritage site and maintain contact with the traditional agricultural world (viticulture, olive growing, market gardening...), while offering a space open to walks, leisure activities and enabling the development of events around biodiversity.

The creation of a shared garden in 2018: the shared garden project was led by the Comité de quartier des grisettes with the help of Passe Muraille.

It is installed at the eastern entrance to the Agri-parc. It occupies a surface area of around 1,000 m2, with room for further expansion. Equipped with overhead planters, it can accommodate visitors with reduced mobility or in wheelchairs. It is used for a wide range of events to introduce local residents to gardening. A shared orchard has also been created on the edge of the garden.

In 2022, allotment gardens were created. They accommodate 82 plots between 50 m² and 90 m². Unlike other allotment gardens in Montpellier, the 82 plots in the Mas Nouguier agriparc are not individually fenced. However, a fence is installed around the entire site, to delimit the dedicated area.

On the border with shared gardens, these are true collective allotment gardens. An area is also reserved for schoolchildren.
