With a capacity of 12,000, Septeo Stadium hosts national and international competitions. The stadium is part of a complex that also includes a regional competition stadium and two training areas for rugby schools. It hosted the 2007 Rubgy World Cup.
It comprises:
- a main stadium (Cat. A), for hosting national and international competition matches.
- a 500-seat stadium (Cat. C), for first-team training and regional category competitions.
- two synthetic pitches (Cat. D), for rugby school training, open to schools in the Metropole for all sporting activities.
IRB (International Rugby Board) approved, they can be used as training pitches for professionals when grassed training pitches are unavailable.
Stadium capacity
12,726 seats including:
- 11,899 seats for the public,
- 392 seats in the boxes,
- 370 seats in the official stands,
- 65 seats in the press box.
The weighing area, located at pitch level, has an additional capacity of 860 seats, for the possible installation of demountable bleachers.
This complex has an educational and supervisory vocation turned towards young people from the Ovalie district and more widely from the Metropole. It will welcome school groups and clubs in the best conditions of comfort, safety and equipment quality.
Changing rooms and physical preparation rooms
The changing rooms and physical preparation rooms represent a total surface area of 850 m² comprising: changing rooms and sanitary facilities, an aquatherapy shower area, a gym and warm-up room, a weight training room, various video-breefing areas, care/physical therapy area, coach's office and relaxation area.
Shower and aquatherapy area
In the changing rooms, in addition to traditional showers, teams will benefit from special equipment with hot and cold water basins. Once the match is over, players will be able to immerse themselves in a cold-water pool measuring 3x2m and 1.10m deep, to alleviate the effects of blows sustained during the match. A 5x3m, 1.80m-deep hot-water pool is then at their disposal, with seats and a whirlpool bath for post-match relaxation and recovery. In addition, the showers are equipped with a hydrojet.
Reception areas
On the 1st floor, a 1,400 m² space will be dedicated to receptions. On the 2nd floor, 24 dressing rooms will be able to accommodate 396 people, distributed as follows: 4 dressing rooms with 30 seats, 4 dressing rooms with 18 seats, 14 dressing rooms with 12 seats and 2 dressing rooms with 18 seats.
A large ambulatory area provides access to each of the dressing rooms. They are equipped with direct access to the grandstands to watch the matches. Terraces are also planned behind the main façade of the stadium entrance, providing a view of the Ovalie district and Montpellier.
Press rooms
A 65-seat press box will be available for journalists on the 3rd floor, as well as a press room on the first floor, comprising a newsroom, reproduction room, telecom room and reception area with changing rooms and sanitary facilities. A service staircase provides access to bleacher seating on the 3rd floor.
Giant screen and TV sets
A giant 5.20 x 7.20m screen is located on the rue Bugarel side, opposite the grandstand. It broadcasts action, but also footage from other matches broadcast on TV, commercials, images and messages of all kinds.
Monitors with TV screens are also installed in strategic locations such as refreshment areas, dressing rooms, dressing rooms,...
This technology helps create a special atmosphere before the match, at half-time, but also during the third half, so dear to the fans.
Acoustic comfort, for supporters and local residents
Multi-broadcast sound, via speakers distributed over the stands, will enable quality sound diffusion within the stadium, without adversely affecting the neighborhood.
Lighting
In 2016, 100 existing floodlights were replaced and 80 new floodlights were installed on 4 masts. While maintaining the stadium's Pro Label classification, the lighting of the playing area has thus been strengthened (its capacity increased from 1,200 to 2,000 Lux), in order to meet the National Rugby League's (LNR) criteria for televised broadcasts.
Club house
Located on the first floor, it is reserved for the resident club, housing the club's administrative structure and a 200-seat brasserie restaurant, scheduled to open daily.
