The choreographer and performer weaves connections between her life and texts of contemporary feminist poetry, which she conveys directly to the audience with her voice. She seeks to understand through the body the poems of Gloria Anzaldúa, Lisette Lombé, and Marie-Hélène Voyer, based on the emotions these texts evoke in her.

Futurapolis Health
Even though it weighs only about 2% of the body’s weight, the brain is made up (among other things) of nearly a hundred billion neurons, connected by a staggering number of connections. It is the seat of our thoughts and emotions, our memory, our behaviors, and our ability to interact with the world. In short, it is our humanity. Well protected within the skull, it has yet to reveal all its secrets.
This year, at Futurapolis Health, researchers, neurologists, psychiatrists, neurosurgeons, and other health professionals will make the latest knowledge about the functioning of this organ and the advances in research accessible. Why and how do we create our inner cinema? How do the brains of expectant mothers and their fetuses evolve during pregnancy and after birth? How do profilers work during criminal investigations?
The forum will also dedicate significant attention to the well-being of young people as well as mental illnesses. In particular, it will address treatment-resistant depression and the most recent and effective ways to combat it. Additionally, specialists will explain what can truly be expected from transcutaneous neuromodulation (electric, magnetic, or light stimulation) and which patients are likely to benefit from it.
The public will be able to discover, as if they were in the operating room, how to "insert" catheters into a patient’s body by navigating through blood vessels to reach the site of a stroke or an aneurysm and treat it. They will also witness the removal of a brain tumor from a conscious patient, in order to preserve the most useful areas of their brain and thus maintain their quality of life. Fascinating images await.
Finally, a health pathway will be offered to you – in addition to numerous workshops and other activities – to test your physical and mental fitness. The two are linked. Two millennia ago, the Roman poet Juvenal declared: "Mens sana in corpore sano". So, meet us at and around the Opéra Comédie on October 9 & 10.

"Mirage" Exhibition by Jaume Plensa at Carré Sainte-Anne
"Jaume PLENSA is part of the long tradition of Catalan sculptors, of which he is today the foremost representative, who have conceived their work in a dialogue between Mediterranean memory and universality. For several decades, the sculptor has been showcasing a body of work on the international stage that questions the human condition at the scale of public space.
From the famous Crown Fountain at Millennium Park in Chicago to his installation at the San Giorgio Maggiore Abbey for the Venice Biennale in 2015, his silent figures translate into space a deep meditation on identity, vulnerability, and language. Bodies woven from letters, intertwined alphabets, faces with closed eyes absorbed in a dense interiority: this iconography suggests that humanity is a text in the making, creation a palimpsest of languages and cultures.
Following its reopening in 2025 with the JR exhibition, Carré Sainte-Anne also asserts a southern and universal ambition, both heritage and contemporary, aware of the diversity and richness of its roots. After discovering and loving this place for "the intensity that emanates from its walls, its stones, and its light," Jaume PLENSA will propose a large-scale installation this summer, designed for the verticality of the nave and its unique history, a rare encounter questioning the notions of contemplation and elevation, as well as the capacity of contemporary art to weave connections between memories and territories.
Numa HAMBURSIN, curator of the exhibition Biography
Born in Barcelona in 1955, Jaume Plensa is an essential figure in international contemporary sculpture, much of whose work is specifically designed for public spaces. His sculptures are present around the world: "Crown Fountain" at Millennium Park in Chicago; "We" at the foot of The Shard in London; "Water’s Soul" in Jersey City facing Manhattan; "Julia" on Plaza de Colón in Madrid; "The House of Light and Love" in Taipei. In France, his works can be seen in front of the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Caen, at Port Vauban in Antibes, Place Masséna in Nice, and Place des Ormeaux in Valence.
Numerous museums in Europe, the United States, and Asia have showcased Plensa's works. Among his major exhibitions are the one at the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona in 1996, which was later presented at the Jeu de Paume National Gallery in Paris and at Malmö Konsthall in Sweden the following year; and "Genus and Species" at the Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, Texas in 2010. In 2011, a large selection of his sculptures was exhibited at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in West Bretton (UK), which earned this institution the Most Magnificent Attraction award in 2011. His work was recently exhibited at the Museum of Art and Archaeology in Valence as part of a public commission, as well as at the Fundación Telefónica in Madrid. In June 2025, he presented "Forgotten Dreams" as part of Art Basel Unlimited, confirming his recognition on the global art scene. In the fall of 2025, a major retrospective was dedicated to him at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Michigan (USA), one of the largest sculpture parks in North America.
A recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the National Fine Arts Prize awarded by the Catalan government in 1997, Jaume Plensa was made a Knight of Arts and Letters in France in 1993. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2005. In Spain, he received the National Fine Arts Prize in 2012 and the prestigious Velázquez Prize in 2013. With "Together," an exhibition on the sidelines of the 56th Venice Biennale at the Basilica San Giorgio Maggiore, Jaume Plensa received the Global Fine Art Award for Best Public Outdoor Installation in 2015. In 2025, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Sculpture Center.

Exhibition "Design According to Pierre Paulin 1927-2009"
This is the major summer exhibition at the Musée Fabre, and the first dedicated to design!
Until November 1st, come and observe the colorful works of Pierre Paulin (and sometimes even sit on them!)
Pierre Paulin explored all the ways of being a designer over the course of five decades. Visionary and demanding, this strong personality offers through his work, or his craft as he preferred to say, a true journey into the era that shaped our century, transforming lifestyles and technologies.
The exhibition's layout is fluid, providing beautiful perspectives on reconstructed interior arrangements and significant milestones that mark both Pierre Paulin's career and the cultural and historical context in which it unfolded.
Diverse and informative, it allows visitors to discover how a designer's spirit evolves from the commission to the delivery of an object. Interactive, it offers all sorts of activities in its workshop lounge to experience the designer's profession. Spectacular, it showcases the most monumental installations of the work. The Video Barnum, conceived in 1985, offers an immersive experience orchestrated by Paulin, Paulin, Paulin and Sounds Like Paulin.
From Tuesday to Sunday, 11 AM to 6 PM.

Exhibition "First Times / First Photos" at the Pavillon Populaire
The Pavillon Populaire presents the exhibition "First Times / First Photos" curated by the French photography specialist Luce LEBART, Independent Artistic Director responsible for the 2026-2027 programming of the Pavillon Populaire. An invitation to a playful and scholarly journey through 200 years of innovations and experiments in photography.
The exhibition brings together a selection of "first times" that are technical, aesthetic, scientific, and societal, from the initial attempts of inventors to recent images of galaxy births, including the first photographs transmitted remotely, the first performed image, the first photography book, not to mention the first day of school, or even the first "bug" in the history of photography.
Iconic photographers are also given a voice as they share in images "Their First Times" and through them, their encounter with photography. Visitors will discover the first attempts and images of Henri Cartier Bresson, Bernard Plossu, Martin Parr, and Boris Mikhaïlhov.
The exhibition highlights the connections between contemporary innovations and past experiments, but it also narrates the economic and industrial stakes that underpin the inventors' research and their strategies to ensure recognition and legacy through the protection of their intellectual and commercial property. From the "photocyclist" to the "phototrap," the ingenious patents and quirky brands will delight and surprise visitors. The exhibition will also unveil the hidden side of inventions through the controversies that arose in the race for innovation: the stakes of authorship in the invention of color or the grid, for example. There is also a significant focus on tests and trials, not forgetting the inventions that went nowhere.
"Try again, fail again, fail better": these famous words from Samuel Beckett are a recurring theme of the exhibition, whose journey through the multiple inventions of photography is viewed through the lens of experimentation. There is certainly not one invention but multiple inventions of photography.
In the background of the exhibition, 4 contemporary works resonate with images from the past while several photographic "first times" related to the history of the city of Montpellier and its region punctuate the journey.
The exhibition is accompanied by an eponymous catalog published by Spector Books (June 2026). Practical Information From July 1 to August 30: Tuesday to Sunday 11am-1pm and 2pm-7pm. From September 1 to November 1: Tuesday to Sunday 10am-1pm and 2pm-6pm. Free admission.

Exhibition "The Garden in Motion" by Ella Zadok
The Espace Saint-Ravy is pleased to host, from September 17 to October 18, 2026, the exhibition The Garden in Motion, featuring a selection of works by the artist Ella Zadok. Through layers of oil painting, pastel, and drawing, the artist brings to life a representation of the landscape in perpetual transformation, where memory reinvents what the eye has perceived. Her works invite the visitor to a contemplative and deeply intimate experience.
Opening on Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30 PM.
Rooted in direct observation of the living, the paintings gathered in the exhibition The Garden in Motion arise from the time spent by the artist in the heart of gardens, ponds, and plant landscapes. Water lilies, flowers, and fragments of vegetation become the starting point for a work that oscillates between observation and memory. The drawings and studies made on-site serve as the foundation for a process that continues in the studio, where memories, sensations, and imagination gradually transform the observed forms. More than a representation of the landscape, these works seek to evoke the intimate experience of its traversal.
Created in oil and oil stick on large formats, they explore the expressive possibilities of pictorial material. The layers build up, fade, and then reappear, leaving the image in perpetual transformation. Between figuration and abstraction, each canvas becomes a space where gesture, color, and material carry as much meaning as the subject itself.
The exhibition engages in dialogue with the history of landscape painting, extending to the languages of contemporary abstraction, while affirming painting as a living medium, deeply relevant today.
At a time when images multiply and are consumed instantly, these works celebrate the unique ability of painting to slow down the gaze, to give a sensitive presence to the world, and to renew our way of perceiving it. They invite the visitor not only to look at nature but to experience it through the materiality and poetry of painting.
"I am interested in what is alive, changing, and impossible to freeze. Through these paintings, I hope to invite the gaze to slow down, to regain a form of sensitive attention to the plant world and to the way we inhabit landscapes. For me, painting is a way to enter into dialogue with what transcends us: time, memory, and the silent metamorphoses of nature." Ella Zadok. Artist Biography
Originally from the United Kingdom, Ella Zadok currently develops her practice between the south of France and England. She began her artistic training in 2015 with a preparatory diploma in art and design (Foundation) in the UK. In 2017, she joined the Plymouth College of Art. After an Erasmus exchange at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier, she chose to continue her studies there and obtained her art degree.
Her work has been the subject of several solo and group exhibitions in France and the UK and is now included in private collections across Europe. After presenting her works at the Grad Show of the Morley Gallery in London in 2018, she continued a path of exhibitions in France and the UK. Her production has notably been shown in venues dedicated to contemporary art and heritage, including the Henri-Prades Archaeological Museum in Lattes as part of the exhibition "LUCY IN THE SKY" in 2020, as well as several group exhibitions at the Céret Printmaking Center and the Palais des Congrès in Perpignan in 2022.
Since 2022, Ella Zadok has also been developing a regular collaboration with Tralala Galerie, where she has presented several exhibitions in Collioure and then in Perpignan. Her work was subsequently showcased in solo exhibitions at the Vue sur Cours Gallery in Narbonne in 2025-2026, and then at La Capelleta and Galerie Art Sant Roch in Céret in 2026.

Red bloom
In her exhibition "Red bloom," presented in the Orangerie of the Jardin des Plantes, Alice Pallot focuses on the proliferation of green algae.
Through photography, she questions the consequences of human activities on the environment.
By immersing her photographic prints in baths of algae, the artist reveals an invisible toxicity through the very alteration of the images. She thus creates an immersive experience at the heart of a polluted natural world and paints a striking portrait of the sick beauty of our damaged environment.

Montaud
