Carpet in the Light, artistic experimentation for toddlers

While waiting for the opening of Mille formes, an art center for 0-6 year olds in February 2026, an off-site program is offered to toddlers at the Musée Fabre, open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Carpet in the Light, artistic experimentation as part of the exhibition "The Meeting of Pierre Soulages" at the Fabre Museum From June 28, 2025 to January 4, 2026, open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For children from 15 months to 3 years Light, and its emergence through gesture, is one of Pierre Soulages's greatest concerns. What if children and their parents also sculpted light? By caressing, striating, smoothing, scratching, and pricking thick carpets that reproduce the light projections from the stained-glass windows of the Sainte-Foix Abbey in Conques, created by Pierre Soulages! How? Using a collection of tools such as brushes, combs, and scrapers. Thus, the gestures of young and old immediately reflect this experimentation before the little ones take a walk through a gallery, punctuated by windows shaped like Conques stained glass. Carpet in the Light allows children from 15 months to 3 years old and their parents to draw directly with light, to look only at it, and to share the obsession that it inspired in Pierre Soulages and Clémentine Carsberg. Created by Clémentine Carsberg, in collaboration with Cécile Manzo of the Tangerine association, Marie Chéné, artist and poet, and Morgane Bel of the Mobile association. Co-produced by the Musée Fabre / Mille Formes Montpellier. "The Paths of Life" Supermarket 2

“Supermarket 2. "Food = Earth: designs and fictions in the service of the transformation of our food systems." is the second exhibition presented through the window in its new space in the Opéra Comédie building. The exhibition will bring together visual art creations, various forms of graphic design (maps, logos, poster campaigns, etc.), fiction (documentaries, advertisements, animation), and will relay social experiments and the transformation of our practices and consumption. Through these means, she will address most of the major contemporary issues related to food, both victim and cause of climate change: new geopolitics linked to shortages, food security, preservation of biodiversity, veganism, waste, food democracy, etc. “Superbemarché 2” is part of the program of “L’événement 25 – Les chemins du vivant”, supported by the M28 association, which worked on the candidacy of Montpellier-Sète and their partners for the title of European Capital of Culture for 2028. The exhibition also echoes the one currently presented by the International Museum of Modest Arts (MIAM): “Supermarket”, based on collections of citrus wrapping papers. Exhibition "Prophecy is memory, belief is synthetic" by Mona Young-eun Kim

The Espace Dominique Bagouet is pleased to host, from November 26, 2025 to January 18, 2026, the exhibition Prophecy is Memory, Belief is Synthetic by Mona Young-eun Kim. Inspired by the remarkable archives of medical education in Montpellier, this exhibition brings together works created by the artist that engage in dialogue with reproductions of historical texts. This artistic journey invites visitors to immerse themselves in a dystopian visual and sonic universe, where archives and works created using artificial intelligence coexist. Exhibition opening: Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. Conceived by Mona Young-eun Kim, the project "Prophecy is Memory, Belief is Synthetic" opens a space for dialogue between memory, current events, and contemporary creation. Using books and documents related to anatomy, the description of pathologies, and the history of healthcare, sourced from the University of Montpellier and the Hérault Departmental Archives, the artist sketches a new anthropology of the future. Continuing her project of an imaginary anatomy museum, Mona Young-eun Kim conceives the exhibition as a fictional archive, presented in the form of an archaeological relic. In this way, she invites visitors to imagine the beliefs and biological structures of a hypothetical future. Influenced by Alain Resnais's film All the Memory of the World, Mona Young-eun Kim explores the potential dialogue between two methods of producing, preserving, and processing memory: the handwritten and tangible memory of the past, and the algorithmic and speculative memory of the future, generated by artificial intelligence. With this project, Kim offers a skillful interweaving of art and science, exploring the tools these two fields provide for understanding our contemporary world. BIOGRAPHY Mona Young-eun Kim is originally from South Korea and lives and works in Antony, France. After earning a double degree in philosophy and film from Dongguk University in Seoul in 2012, she continued her studies at MO.CO. Esba in Montpellier, where she obtained the Diplôme National Supérieur d'Expression Plastique (DNSEP) in 2018. Today, Mona Young-eun Kim is a visual artist and professor at the École supérieure d'art et de design de Reims (Reims School of Art and Design). She develops an artistic practice that explores the near future, navigating between sculpture, new technologies, and stained glass art. Winner of the Printemps program at the Cité internationale des arts, she moved to Paris in 2020. Since then, she has participated in numerous residencies, notably at La Centrale gallery Powerhouse in Montreal (2023) and at La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris (2024). Her work has also been presented in many institutions in France and internationally, including the Frac Île-de-France, the Casino Luxembourg – Forum d'art contemporain in Luxembourg, the AKT in Pforzheim, and the MO.CO. Panacée in Montpellier.
