A calming role
In conjunction with municipal police officers and highway patrol officers, school protection officers have their own responsibilities. They carry them out in the morning, from 7:45 to 8:45, and in the afternoon, from 4:15 to 5:45, with their appropriate equipment: chasuble, "STOP" sign, whistle.
- They signal vehicles to stop in front of protected crossings,
- They position themselves on the protected crossing to accompany schoolchildren and parents as they cross,
- More generally, they contribute to the friendly atmosphere of this special moment: school entry and exit.
