Handisport and adapted sport

The Comité Départemental Handisport's main mission is to promote, develop and organize sports practice for people with physical and/or sensory disabilities at departmental level.

His role:

• Development of adapted sport: encourage the practice of sport by making activities accessible and adapted to different types of disability.
• Support for clubs: support the creation and development of Handisport clubs, as well as the training of supervisors.
• Organization of events: set up competitions, discovery days, and events to raise public awareness and showcase athletes' performances.
• Partnerships: collaborate with local authorities, schools, and associations to promote inclusion through sport.
• Training and awareness-raising: offer training for sports educators and organize awareness-raising actions on the benefits of sport for people with disabilities.
• Promoting autonomy: encouraging athletes to gain autonomy through regular practice of adapted sporting activities.

The committee's overall aim is to enable everyone, whatever their needs, to flourish in an inclusive and rewarding sporting practice.

The Comité Départemental du Sport Adapté de l'Hérault (CDSA 34) is a deconcentrated branch of the Fédération Française du Sport Adapté (FFSA), approved by the Ministry of Sports.

The CDSA 34 is a 1901 law association created in 1985. Its mission is to organize, develop and promote physical and sporting activities for people with mental and/or psychological disabilities and/or behavioral disorders.

Its role:

• To develop and structure the practice of Adapted Sport in the Hérault department (licensees, trainers, disciplines, meetings)
• To develop support for Adapted Sport for access to physical and sporting practices for all (families, establishments, associations, administrations, companies...)
• To ensure the maintenance of good health, the development of personal capacities and better social integration
